Trust Fall

Equipment

None

How to play

Players form pairs with one person as the faller and one as the catcher. The faller stands with arms crossed over their chest and feet together, keeping their body rigid. The catcher stands directly behind with hands ready at shoulder height and one foot slightly back for stability. On a countdown the faller closes their eyes and falls straight backward without stepping, trusting the catcher to support them. The catcher catches them under the arms and supports their weight. Start with a very small fall distance and gradually increase it. Rotate roles and ensure safety by spotting from the side. Never attempt this without proper preparation and safety discussion.

Variations

Progress to a group trust fall where a small circle of catchers surrounds the faller who falls in any direction. Use this activity to open a discussion on trust and teamwork.
