Parachute Games

Equipment

One large parachute

How to play

Players spread out evenly around the parachute and each hold the edge with both hands. The leader calls out various activities for the group to do together. In the Mushroom, everyone lifts the parachute up high and then brings it down, trapping air inside. In Popcorn, place soft balls on the parachute and shake to make them bounce. In Merry-Go-Round, all players walk in the same direction holding the edge to create a spinning effect. In Cat and Mouse, one player crawls under the rippling parachute as the mouse while another walks on top as the cat. The whole group must communicate and cooperate to make each activity work effectively.

Variations

Play parachute volleyball by dividing players into two teams and seeing which side can hit a balloon across the parachute. Use coloured sections for calling specific groups to perform an action.
