Spikeball

Equipment

One Spikeball set (round net frame and small ball)

How to play

Spikeball is played two versus two with a small round net placed on the ground between the teams. The serving team starts by one player spiking the ball down onto the net so it pops up toward the opposing team. The receiving team has up to three touches among their two players to control and spike the ball back onto the net. The ball cannot be caught or held and must bounce off the net cleanly. A point is won when the opposing team fails to return the ball onto the net within three touches, or when the ball hits the rim. There are no boundaries and players move freely around the net.

Variations

Play three versus three with a slight rule adjustment allowing four touches. Use a modified rule for beginners where each team gets an extra touch per rally.
