Count Off
A simple activity that can be used anywhere to trigger teamwork.
How to play
Count how many people are in your group (e.g. 10 participants). Instruct the group to count off out loud to that number without talking to each other. All other forms of communication are allowed. A person cannot count numbers in sequence (e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4...) - they must alternate. Do not allow any group conversations to occur. Start the game immediately, which stops them verbally working it out first. If two or more people say a number at the same time, the group must start again from 1. Once solved, time them to see how quickly they can complete the task.
Variations
If the task is too easy, instruct players to shut their eyes so visual communication is eliminated.
