Get-to-Know-You Games

Silent Lab

A silent activity that increases group communication skills.

How to play

Instruct participants that they must remain silent for the duration of the activity unless told to speak. Explain that they need to arrange themselves into a line according to a criteria you set. As they begin, reinforce the importance of refraining from verbal communication. Any other communication is permitted. They may find this difficult at first, so keep reinforcing it. Allow sufficient time for participants to communicate and engage with each other. Once the task looks complete, instruct the group to announce the order aloud to see if they achieved the objective. Run the activity multiple times, increasing the difficulty of the criteria each round.

Variations

Blindfold participants to increase the difficulty of the task.
